Israel’s ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, called the move a “charade,” arguing it supports terrorism instead of fostering peace. “They feel they are doing something, but they are not promoting peace. On the contrary, they are supporting terrorism,” he told reporters.
The United States remains a firm opponent. Washington boycotted a UN session as France cast its vote and has consistently used its veto at the Security Council to shield Israel from unfavorable resolutions.
