The girls of Xavier Prep were the first to hoist up a sand-volleyball state championship trophy, ending an undefeated season with a win over Fountain Hills.

Arcadia’s historic volleyball season came to a disappointing conclusion Monday night, as the Titans were swept in straight sets in the Division II state championship by rival Sunnyslope at Grand Canyon University.

Arcadia advanced to its first state volleyball championship in school history Saturday, sweeping Prescott in straight sets in the semifinals of the Division II tournament at Grand Canyon University.

In the biggest game of the season, Arcadia shocked third-seeded Ironwood on Thursday in a thrilling five-set match to advance to the semifinals of the state Division II volleyball championships.

Arcadia advanced to the second round of the state Division II volleyball playoffs Tuesday, defeating Marcos de Niza High for the third time this season in a highly competitive contest at Arcadia.
