New Ducks fans

Biltmore Preparatory Academy

The mascot at Biltmore Preparatory Academy is the same as the Auburn Tigers, but students were Oregon Ducks fans for the BCS National Championship football game.

First- and third-grade students at the school were surprised by the Oregon Duck mascot Puddles and team cheerleaders after a letter-writing campaign to the University of Oregon.

Lara Eklund is an Oregon alumnus, and Kim Swedbery is native to Oregon. The Biltmore Prep teachers started the letter-writing campaign in hopes of finding a fun writing exercise for students while exposing them to college experiences.

After a performance by the Oregon cheerleaders and Puddles, Oregon alumni gave a speech to the students about setting high goals and working hard to reach them.
