Arcadian Greta Bindley won first place in the kindergarten-grade 5 category of the Vessels of Hope cermic-art contest.

Bindley, a third-grader at Phoenix Country Day School, was one of several first- and third-grade PCDS students entered in the contest. Judges were professional ceramic artists and professors of ceramics from ASU.

Bindley’s winning piece will be on display for the next year at the Cancer Treatment Center of America as part of the Creative Arts in Healing program.

PCDS students also took a second-place award in the contest and several honorable mention awards. In addition, middle-school art teacher Melanie Sainz was third in the adult category.
